A New York woman suddenly went into labor at a Pink concert in Boston and is now the mother of a healthy baby after giving birth at a nearby hospital.
Angela Mercer she was just 31 weeks pregnant when she flew from Albany last week to see the star perform at Fenway Park, according to reports in a statement the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
According to hospital information, Mercer was on a girls’ trip to celebrate her mother Barbara’s birthday, along with her sister-in-law, but “things didn’t go as planned.”
Shortly after arriving at the concert venue, Mercer realized that she was experiencing contractions., mentioned the hospital on his Facebook account. After calling her doctor, they advised her to go to a hospital urgently.
The women tried to find a way to get to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, but had trouble doing so amid the traffic chaos of the concert.
So, they decided to walk to the hospital, which it’s just over a mile from Fenway Park.
“She and her family decided that the quickest way to get to Brigham and Women’s was to walk, and so, decked out in their concert regalia, they made the trip to our hospital where Angela later gave birth to her son in the NICU at Brigham,” the hospital wrote.
According to PeopleAngela said that she and her husband Ace are “incredibly grateful to the exceptional team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.”
“The medical, case management and social work staff confidently guided us with their knowledge and experience, all while being personable, empathetic and engaging. We are sincerely grateful,” she added.
Although “the family could not enjoy the concert, they say they received the best gift of all: a healthy baby,” the hospital added.
