• No wolves shot during protective hunting in Västmanland – here are the most common causes of death

It has been ten years since a wolf was shot in a protective hunt in Västmanland. The last protection hunt was granted in 2017, when a female wolf in Kolsva took pets and was observed in a schoolyard. But that wolf was never killed and hasn’t reappeared since.

• A man detained on suspicion of murder in Fagersta

Over the weekend, a man in his 50s was arrested on probable cause on suspicion of murder, after the police found a dead person in Fagersta last week.

• Political objective: Shoot half the wolf tribe

This winter’s record-breaking wolf hunt may be the start of a much larger shootout. The goal for the government is to more than halve the number of wolves, even though there is currently a lack of scientific support.
