Monday May 15, Jean-Baptiste Trogneux, grand-nephew of the president and his wife, was attacked in Amiens, in the Somme, in front of the family chocolate factory. A group of individuals, present during a demonstration against the head of state, allegedly beat the young man.

The altercation took place in front of a chocolate factory belonging to the family of Brigitte Macron, in Amiens (Somme). It is nearly 10 p.m. on Monday, May 15, when Jean-Baptiste Trogneux, little nephew President, overhears a group of people throwing trash cans at his store. He was then pushed and beaten. A very violent attack according to his father, they were 10 against one and beat him on the face and in the temple. The assault allegedly took place on the sidelines of an organized demonstration after Emmanuel Macron’s interview.

Eight people arrested, six tried on Wednesday

Two days after the events, the inhabitants of Amiens denounce this violence. Eight people were arrested Monday evening, six of them, from the region, would be known to the police. Three men are to be tried in immediate appearance this Wednesday at 2 p.m., while a 16-year-old girl will be presented to a juvenile judge. One of the participants, present at the time of the events, confides that blows were indeed struck against Jean-Baptiste Trogneux. The Trogneux family denounces damage to its chocolate factory during the demonstrations against the president.
