The surroundings of the hospital have become the target of thieves / web
In the City, crime does not give respite and in the midst of the commotion caused by some violent events that have occurred in recent days, the drama of the health professionals who carry out their work at the Spanish Hospital of La Plata has now become known.
According to what they denounced in their own words in contact with EL DIA, during the last months they have been suffering different criminal acts in the vicinity of the hospital located on Calle 9, between 35 and 36.
The discomfort and indignation is great, as revealed, since the acts of insecurity are consummated without distinction of time. “It happens first thing in the morning, in the afternoon, and not to mention at night,” they detailed.
Along the same lines, they pointed out that thugs are always handled with the same logistics. Once the vehicles are parked on the sidewalk -with no one inside-, they approach them and go for a clear objective: the wheels.
The so-called “wheel stealers” continue to operate with absolute impunity and, as in this case, for some time now they have been causing havoc in the streets of La Plata.
As if that were not enough, they also revealed that not only are vehicles stalked by criminals, but in the area they often intercept with an armed hand.
“They are armed and on other occasions they have beaten doctors. They steal their personal belongings and on many occasions their work tools,” they said.

As a result of the different reports of theft, EL DIA contacted Dr. Luis Fabián Pintos, Medical Director of the Spanish Hospital of La Plata and consulted about what was reported.
In this sense, the professional confirmed and expressed that to date, there are “several doctors and health personnel who have expressed being victims of insecurity in the vicinity of the hospital.”
He also explained that the events have been causing “fear” due to the follow-up that has been reported. “Some come to attend for 45 minutes and in that period their cars have already been stolen,” he said in relation to the testimonies of his colleagues.
“They steal from the tires of the vehicles, to what is inside. Many break the glass and take out what is inside, ”she said, adding:“ Other doctors have also suffered armed robberies, ”he referred to.
Neighbors suffer too
Just as different robberies have been reported on the outskirts of the hospital (whether in the block of Calle 9 or Calle 10; or from 35 to 36), residents of the surrounding areas also expressed their concern about the insecurity they have been living in the neighborhood.
“We need more security, the area has been insecure here for a while,” said a neighbor.
In the same way, another front member affirmed that “they cannot walk calmly”, since “every day they steal”, he concluded.
