News JVTech No need for a Tesla and Steam to play, NVIDIA GeForce Now is coming to electric cars!

The video game really seems to want to invite itself into electric cars! After the arrival of Steam in Teslas, it is now around NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, to join our vehicles.

Video game and electric car: an inevitable marriage?

Embedded video games will soon no longer be the prerogative of Tesla. NVIDIA announced at CES 2023 that it will bring its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, to its Drive platform. In other words, it will allow all interested car manufacturers to integrate the service into their vehicles.

Of A Plague Tale: Requiem to Rumbleversethe amount of titles available on GeForce Now is more than interesting. And you can be sure, the catalog should grow even more over the next few years, to the delight of gamers and therefore also owners of electric cars.

No need for a Tesla and Steam to play, NVIDIA GeForce Now is coming to electric cars!

As you can imagine, you won’t be able to play while driving. Nevertheless, it will be possible to enjoy this gaming experience when the car is parked or at any time in the back seats. In this case, the driver will not be able to enjoy games, but will be a great addition for passengers sitting on the bench seat.

Geforce Now and attacking Steam and Tesla?

For the moment, only a few car manufacturers have announced their partnership with NVIDIA to accommodate the GeForce Now in their cabin. Among the list, we find in particular the Hyundai Motor group (Kia, Genesis and Hyundai), but also the Swedes of Polestar or the Chinese giant BYD. On the other hand, no release date has been communicated, but we already know that the Drive platform will be included in some vehicles that will arrive during this year.

As we explained to you above, the GeForce Now catalog is vast, and includes more than 1,500 games. In the presentation video (below) shared by NVIDIA, we see games like Cuphead, Rocket League or Destiny 2. For those who didn’t know, the service has, until now, only worked on mobile devices and via the web, and can therefore be used on many platforms. From this year, we will therefore begin to see GeForce Now appear on new generation cars, which are always more connected.

Note, however, that most games are chargeable, even if the basic service is free. GeForce Now also has its share of paid options, and just announced that Ultimate subscribers will be entitled to the power of the RTX 4080. After Tesla, other car manufacturers will therefore be able to bring the video game to their cars – mainly electric.
