A robbery shook the tranquility of Melchor Romero in the last hours, where police officers arrested a criminal inside a business located in the area of ​​520 and 172.

As reported by police spokesmen to this newspaper, a 39-year-old man was apprehended at dawn yesterday after forcibly entering a polleria and taking a large sum of money. More precisely, an amount of 160 thousand pesos in cash.

The thug tried to flee with the loot in hand, but after a 911 alert about the robbery, he ended up surrounded by police officers who quickly arrived at the scene and caught him before he could flee.

It was the troops of the Fourteenth Police Station who, upon arriving at the scene, found the entry of the damaged business and proceeded to verify what had happened.

There, they found the “crouching” criminal, who was unable to escape with the money and a hammer hidden among his clothes.

Subsequently, the thief was reduced, arrested and transferred to the police station, where a case for “attempted robbery” was initiated. He intervened UFI No. 7 of the Judicial Department of La Plata, and was placed at the disposal of Justice.
