Step.- Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Bridge of the Americas border crossing – known as “Libre” – detained a man with an outstanding warrant for manslaughter issued by the Terry County Sheriff’s Office in Brownfield, Texas, south of Lubbock.

The individual was arrested by CBP officers and turned over to local authorities pending extradition to the agency of origin.

“The vast majority of travelers that CBP officers process do not pose any risk, however, each inspection must be thorough to ensure that those who are being sought by law enforcement can be identified and apprehended,” said the director of the CBP El Paso port, Ray Provencio.

On February 20, CBP officers encountered a 24-year-old United States citizen.
