Seven people died in a train fire in southern Pakistan today. Authorities say several children are among the victims.

The train was traveling from the southern metropolis of Karachi to Lahore when a car on the train caught fire and set fire to three others, train company spokesman Mohsin Siyal said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. After several hours of searching, at least four children were found dead in a burned-out car.

In Pakistan, train accidents are common due to poor infrastructure. In 2017, more than 70 people were killed in the South Asian country when a passenger’s gas stove exploded.
