At game time the best plan was to stay on a beach in Montevideo. Or, for those who are not so fond of summer, a closed place with air conditioning so as not to sweat. Well, the game played at 6:15 p.m. and the Estudiantes fans who had decided to travel or be at the Centenario had to drop everything to be present. How much love for a soccer jersey must be had for such an act of fidelity!
The framework of the game was not that of Thursday. Nothing to see. A football monument for 70,000 spectators that was undoubtedly big. But beware that Pincha once again had stamina with a more than important frame of fans with shirts, drums and flags. Among them are those of “Lo Leales”, “16 de octubre”, “Tolosa Enajenada”, “Berisso”, “Ensenada”, “Catamarca”, “Montevideo”, “La Loma” and “Seba”.
On this occasion the value of the general tickets was 400 Uruguayan pesos, about 10 dollars and cheaper than last Thursday, when they cost 600 pesos for visitors. As there are two factions from the same country, the organization wanted to lower the price and, incidentally, get a neutral to “get on”. Of course, the tremendously hot day invited more to be on the beach than on that mass of cement.
Juan Carlos Di Tomasso, who had been at the game on Thursday, arrived a while earlier from Punta del Este, where he took the opportunity to continue the trip before returning to La Plata. The same goes for Mariano Dottori and his friend Quique Saldaña, both from Berisso, who arrived on Thursday morning and enjoyed the Uruguayan capital.
Same scenario for Guido and Agustina, who spent a mini vacation in Montevideo, a bit of romantic sunsets and some soccer to break the vice.
At the Centenario stadium, an icon of South American football, Estudiantes fans occupied the Olympic stand. It is the first time in his multiple visits that this sector touches him. It is the audience that is right in front of the TV cameras.
The first to arrive were in the shadow of Parque Batlle to withstand an impossible temperature to be in the sun. The most steadfast arrived with the mesh and sand on their feet after a day at the beach.
The fans of Atlético Tucumán were in the América tribune, in only one sector. The funny thing is that the Dean’s were located above the dressing room used by Pincha, because it was the place after the draw for the previous one.
Meeting of fans in Pinamar
In parallel with the movement on the other side of the Charco there was a meeting of fans in Pinamar. A hundred red-and-whites gathered on a beach in the center of the Buenos Aires coastal city to show their flags and sing.
