Not even the storms stop the party in Miami

Not even the storms stop the festive spirit and the desire to enjoy in Miami.

On Saturday, while the city was flooded with rain due to the presence of a extratropical low that affected southern Florida and the western region of Cuba, many of its inhabitants had fun.

“Storm or no storm, nothing stops the 305,” said Twitter user “Only in Dade,” alluding to how many spent bad weather in Miami, also known as the 305, because it is the city’s original prefix.

Young people dancing under an umbrella while a torrential rain fell on them, people enjoying a concert, a man in a huge chicken costume riding a mechanical bull and a Santa Claus drinking a bottle were some shared scenes.

On the highway, a man transported a horse in the back seat of his covered vehicle, and another driver lamented the complete absence of lights on the road.

Another video showed what happened to a girl who was traveling with her friends in a car in the middle of the storm and it occurred to her to open the door, but she did not foresee that the strength of the wind would be such that it would not allow her to close the vehicle again.

“Bad night for your hair to get stuck in the door,” commented the author of the post.

Thousands of Internet users have given him like to both publications.

“Miami is so surreal”, “Miami is a movie!”, “Miami is literally its own country” or “Miami the undefeated city”, were some of the comments.

The National Weather Service of Miami-South Florida shared on its Twitter account this Sunday a satellite image of the extratropical low over the Gulf and southern Florida.

“While it has been a very soggy and gusty day, our greatest potential for severe weather and flooding remains on track for later tonight with a line of storms developing over the eastern Gulf of Mexico,” he said.
