Mexico City.- The notary Amando Mastachi Aguario denied Minister Yasmín Esquivel and disclaimed having certified that Edgar Báez was the one who plagiarized the thesis, as she stated.

Through a statement, Notary 121 of Mexico City denied endorsing the document in the terms raised by the official in an effort to defend herself against the controversy that encroached on her for the plagiarism of her thesis.

“My intervention was at the request of a party that I received in writing on December 28, 2022 and not on my own initiative. As a notary, I attended said procedure within the legal framework at the address of the person who identified himself as Edgar Ulises Báez Gutiérrez on December 29, 2022,” he stated.

“My participation was limited solely and exclusively to attesting to the putting of his signature and recognition of the content of a document that he showed me at that time, so I, as a notary, do not endorse the content of said document,” he added.

Likewise, Mastachi Aguario, stated that he made a statement of the facts of the above.

“It is important to emphasize that my performance adheres to all legal protocols and, in addition, I have the documentation and images that support it, which are protected by professional secrecy, which is why they can only be displayed at the request of an authority. legally empowered to request them,” he said.

The name of the notary was cited by Minister Esquivel to affirm that Báez admitted that he took “several references and text” from his thesis, which was published a year after the aforementioned.
