The Oakland Athletics and Golden Knights stepped up to help the Little League team the Henderson All-Stars in their quest for the World Series.

The A’s donated $15,000 Tuesday morning to the youth team’s GoFundMe page, and the Knights announced Monday a $10,000 contribution to help cover the team’s travel costs to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the site of the Little League World Series.

“Good luck, after two months we think it’s time for another valley title,” the Golden Knights tweeted Monday.

“We are happy to support the Henderson Little League in their quest to bring another championship to Southern Nevada,” the A’s said in a statement.

The Athletics Investment Group’s $15,000 donation is listed as the largest donation of 156 made on the team’s GoFundMe page, created by Ryan Walther on behalf of the parents of Henderson’s team players. As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser had generated $31,770, already surpassing its original goal of $25,000.

“We are happy to support the Henderson Little League in their quest to bring another championship to Southern Nevada,” the A’s said in a statement.

Henderson became the second team from Nevada to reach the Little League World Series on Friday, beating Utah’s Snow Canyon 10-0 in the Mountain Region final. The team opens the game in the World Series at noon Friday against Smithfield, Rhode Island. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Money donated by professional sports teams and individual donors will go towards flights, car rentals, hotels, meals, incidentals and team activities.

“It is important to me that this group of dedicated parents receive support,” Walther wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Having 12 families travel to Pennsylvania for 14 days is a huge financial burden on top of the time lost from work.”
