The news was given to employees of the team with an email sent by the Senior Vice President of Bethesda. The message has been read and verified by True Achievements, only after the confirmation has arrived from the publisher.

I am writing to tell you that the head of the studio, Shinji Mikami, has decided to leave the company he founded in the coming months.” Mikami San has been the creative head of Tango Gameworks since 2010 and has worked on projects such as Evil Within, Ghostwire Tokyo and last but not least Hi-Fi Rush, while also helping to mentor a new generation of artists and developers.

Tango Gameworks will continue to operate regularly guaranteeing full support for Hi-Fi Rush and developing new games together with Bethesda. After contributing to the birth and success of Resident Evil, Mikami left Capcom in the late 2000s to found his own studio, which later came to Zenimax. Tango Gameworks’ first game was The Evil Within in 2014, the game got a sequel in 2017, later Mikami turned to Ghostwire Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush. It is not clear what will be the professional future of Shinji Mikami after his farewell to Tango.
