On video: they rescue a pedestrian after accidentally falling into a hole in a construction zone

MIAMI – A man had to be rescued after falling into a hole in a construction zone while walking down the street, according to police.

The pedestrian was trapped in the 10-foot-deep hole for nearly three hours after accidentally falling into it, authorities said.

Miami-Dade, Florida Fire Department officials responded to the construction site located in the 21600 block of Southwest 119th Avenue just before 4 a.m.

A video shared by the fire department shows the moment the man is rescued and placed on a stretcher. He was taken to a local hospital.

“We kept it pretty basic. And we made sure the scene was safe and we used the stoke basket to get the patient out of the hole,” said Miami-Dade Fire Department Officer Juan del Campo.

So far the authorities have not revealed the identity of the man or an update on his health condition.
