The Microsoft cloud storage OneDrive was not available to many users yesterday, users could not access their data stored there in the morning of our time. After almost five hours, the Redmond company was able to install a fix, so OneDrive was largely accessible again.
However, there still seem to be issues related to or a result of the OneDrive failure. Because even about 24 hours after the cloud problems, OneNote notebooks cannot be synchronized. We can confirm this directly between Android and Windows 11, but it doesn’t seem to work as it should on iOS and iPadOS either.
OneNote sync disrupted
Because new entries are not synchronized between the mobile version and the desktop. This is also confirmed by users on Reddit: “Since yesterday’s OneDrive outage, OneNote for Android still doesn’t work for me. Syncs run indefinitely, changes take hours to take effect, sometimes I can’t see the OneNote file after resetting the app Open it once. No problems on PC. On Android I’ve reset the app several times. According to Microsoft, everything should work again,” writes Redditor TheGreatTimmyAT. He recently delivered an update himself and writes that he found a way to get the OneNote sync working again: “I had to create a completely new OneNote file, copy all the pages and sections into the new notebook, and now “It’s working again on PC and Android. Apparently the long OneDrive outage messed up the already difficult OneNote sync to such an extent that my file was permanently corrupted.”
But we can’t confirm that ourselves, apparently there seem to be a number of problems here or it’s conceivable that the OneDrive failure damaged the data (banks) in different ways. We’ll update this article once OneNote is up and running again or a general working fix is available.
