Despite numerous warnings from customs services and awareness raising against the illicit transfer of capital, many travelers still attempt to smuggle large sums of currency and valuables from and to the national territory.

Indeed, the previous summer season witnessed non-compliance with the laws governing the transfer of capital from and to the national territory. Indeed, the customs services at the Algerian ports and airports tried to arrest several passengers during this period.

Oum Teboul: large seizure on a traveler to Algeria

In the same vein, the agents of the main inspection of travelers control at the land border post in Oum Teboul proceeded to seize a large sum of currency on a passenger. The latter was about to complete the procedures for entering the national territory.

Following the control operation, the agents of this border post succeeded in getting their hands on the total sum of 37,500 euros on the traveler in question, the Arabic-speaking Ennahar revealed today, citing a press release from the services of the customs of El Tarf.

Record seizure of goods at Algiers airport

A few days ago, elements of the PAF at the international airport of Algiers made another record seizure. The latter does not concern the illicit transfer of capital, but rather of household appliances from abroad.

Indeed, this seizure concerns 271 smartphones, 550 headphones. As well as 50 perfume flakes. This is a new seizure that adds to the long list of those made during the previous summer season.
