CDMX.- They had to make an impact, but also convince and make their audience fall in love again and they did: OV7 triumphed this Thursday at the National Auditorium.

Gone are the differences, the changes in the lineup and other circumstances, since the iconic pop septet in Spanish did it again, and in a big way, with the show in which it showed the most symbolic thing in its almost 35-year career.

From “Susanita Tiene un Ratón” and “Aum Aum” to “Un Pie Tras Otro Pie” and “Te Quiero Tanto, Tanto” to “Shabadabadá” and “Love Colada”, the group spared no songs to grace their repertoire.

Accustomed to setting trends and innovating, the members refreshed their proposal with new movements or arrangements for some of their emblematic songs, such as a hard rock base in “Más que Amor” or a dance disco version in “Shake Shake”, which even has choreography different from the one they presented on the tour alluding to the CD00 album, more than 20 years ago, and which has been one of the most imitated on video platforms.

Ari, Mariana, Érika, Kalimba, M’Balia, Lidia and Óscar went on stage with the purpose of exploiting all kinds of emotions among their faithful audience, mostly made up of young people and adults, and they succeeded: nostalgia, enthusiasm, happiness, tears , laughter, screams. Everything, as if out of control.

“We are happy that the time has returned to see each other and once again be accomplices in the story that has only one purpose: OV7,” said Érika at the beginning of the concert, which reported a full house, some 10,000 souls, according to the organizers.

“It had to be like this, the seven of us had to be together for you, and tonight we are going to give it our all,” Kalimba also shouted, when each one took the microphone to welcome the first of the two concerts of this tour.

The group formed and coordinated by Julissa as Onda Vaselina in Mexico City, in 1989, offered what was the seventh concert of their Thirty Tour at the Paseo de la Reforma building, which was to take place between 2020 and 2021 , but which was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.

Despite the fact that in recent months they showed deep differences, which they made public, they came together to please the fans, mostly between 30 and 40, who sang and danced to their liveliest songs until exhaustion.

When it was their turn to talk about Óscar and Lidia, they dedicated the song “I confess” to the make-up artist Jonathan Lule, who frequently worked with her and who also collaborated with Alessandra Rosaldo, Ana de la Reguera and Ludwika Paleta.

“It is for all those people, because I am surely not the only one, who have lost a loved one. Today my little heart is very sad, because a great talent has left us, my makeup artist, my friend Jonathan Lule, who left us yesterday , and surely he would be here with me, because he was rarely there, among the public; he was always with me”, said “La China”.

During the performance of “Te Necesito”, M’Balia, Ari and Érika brought their respective sons and daughters on stage, a custom they devised for this tour at the various shows in Mexico City, which is where they all live.
