Owner abandons her French bulldog at Pittsburgh airport because she couldn't get on the flight, police say

A woman abandoned her dog in a Pittsburgh airport parking lot after airline employees told her the pet was not allowed on the plane, authorities say.

The white-and-tan French bulldog was found alone in a stroller at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The Allegheny County Police Department posted a photo of the pup on Facebook last week with the caption “Don’t abandon your pets.”

Police were able to locate a microchip on the dog, but were unable to contact the owner.

According to the investigation, the airline informed the owner that the dog had to go in a cage to be able to travel by plane.

Instead of leaving with the pet and making the necessary arrangements, the woman allegedly abandoned it in a parking lot and boarded her flight.

The Allegheny County Police Department added that charges are expected to be filed against the owner.
