Today in Jardín América they fired Andrés Gall (19), the young man shot on December 25 and who died in the last hours of yesterday at the Ramón Madariaga de Posadas hospital.

Andrés, while trying to help a friend who was having problems with a group of neighbors, was shot in the abdomen with a shotgun. The attack took place in the early hours of December 25, about three blocks from the young man’s house, and for this fact the Misiones Police detained four days later two people suspected of being involved in the attack.

The irreparable pain for the loss of a child at the time of saying goodbye is an insurmountable moment. “The last thing he said to me was ‘Merry Christmas mommy, may you be very happy,'” were the words of an anguished mother, Elena Martínez, who recalled the last moments she enjoyed with her son prior to the episode that the young man had to experience.

In turn, he said that Jorge greeted all the neighbors he could for the Christmas holiday, went to the in-laws’ house to greet his girlfriend, but then never returned home.

José Gall, the boy’s father, also submerged in deep pain, expressed that this would be his last year of high school and he really wanted to continue studying. “He was a very diligent boy in class, the teachers said that he was a good student and when he graduated he wanted to study to be a mathematics teacher or enter by force.” He even recounted that Jorge practically did not miss classes and attended the local technical school during school time.

The farewell was this afternoon at the new Jardín América cemetery. He was veiled where his home was and all his loved ones accompanied him until the last goodbye.
