Ariel Lima Feijoo, a journalist for Public TV, suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday while he was working on the open television channel, which caused his death this Wednesday afternoon. Confirming the news, his colleagues wrote: “It is with great pain that we say goodbye to our colleague Ariel Lima, who worked at Channel 7 for more than 30 years and was a union leader at different times.”

The journalist had worked for the channel for more than 30 years and was a union leader of the Argentine Federation of Press Workers, who, upon learning of what happened, responded by citing the previous tweet: “We share the deep sorrow for the departure of comrade Ariel Lima, worker of Channel 7 and who was union leader of our Federation. Our hug to family, friends and colleagues.

“It is with great pain that we fire our colleague Ariel Lima, who worked at Channel 7 for more than 30 years and was a union leader at different times,” said the channel’s workers in the Buenos Aires Press Union (SiPreBA) in another statement.

During his career, Feijoo dedicated himself specifically to the world of graphics, he worked as a creative in different advertising agencies. In turn, he had union activity as Trade Union Secretary of the Union of Press Workers of Buenos Aires from 1988 to 1992, as Press Secretary between 1989 and 1992, and as Secretary of the Interior from 1992 to 1995 of the Federation Argentina of Press Workers. During this time, he also gave different training seminars and talks to journalists who were in training.

“There is a great consternation of all the compañeros and compañeras of the channel,” said host Luli Trujillo, of the Desiguales program, on Public TV. Meanwhile, other colleagues joined the expressions of pain and dedicated their messages to the deceased journalist. Lima Feijoo also defined himself on his social networks as a writer and “communication and image advisor.” He was a fan of Boca and a lover of the songs of Joaquín Sabina and Joan Manuel Serrat.

One of the last jobs of the journalist would have been the publication of the book A hug, three religions. The issue is not just a log of the almost three days of the Pope’s Trip to the Holy Land. It is an enriching chronicle, which with a simple and close language, introduces us to the framework of this trip, its history, its characters… but above all things, surprising us at the Pope’s gestures that spoke more than his words. A text that invites you to vibrate with the same emotion as this agnostic professional, who in the face of “the most important job challenge experienced up to now” is moved by the devotion of a people and by the meeting of the three representatives of these cultures, mingling in the same hug
