Mexico City.- The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés Mendoza, announced that he will present an action of unconstitutionality before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to challenge “Plan B” of the electoral reform of President López Obrador, which seeks to limit the capacities of the National Electoral Institute (INE).

The challenge will be formulated shortly through three ways:

1. The one that the party presidents have as power, and that because it is an electoral issue, they can directly present an action of unconstitutionality.

2. Another is the legislative route, through the signatures of deputies and senators.

3. A constitutional controversy can also be filed through municipalities and city councils, because it is argued that their ability to inform and disseminate government actions is being limited.

“The possibility of being able to publicize what they are doing is being limited, while we see the federal government every day that misuses the National Palace to carry out politics and dissemination and attack the opposition,” lamented the leader, who He explained that “Plan B” further delays the 2024 electoral process and is part of what will be challenged.

Without this modification, the electoral process would begin in September of this year, but with the modification of “Plan B” it would last until November.
