The mask requirement in public transport is a thing of the past. The isolation requirement in some places too. Read here what applies in your state.

On Wednesday are central in other federal states corona protection measures please. Anyone who becomes infected with the corona virus no longer has to isolate themselves at home in Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Bremen and Saxony-Anhalt.

Thuringia and Saxony followed on Thursday. Several states had them isolation obligation already ended before. In Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, on the other hand, those infected with corona must continue to isolate themselves for several days.

Isolation obligation in the federal states – that currently applies

  • Hamburg: The obligation to isolate ended on February 1st
  • North Rhine-Westphalia: The obligation to isolate ended on February 1st
  • Lower Saxony: The obligation to isolate ended on February 1st
  • Bremen: The obligation to isolate ended on February 1st
  • Saxony-Anhalt: The obligation to isolate ended on February 1st
  • Thuringia: The obligation to isolate ended on February 2nd
  • Hesse: The obligation to isolate ended on February 2nd
  • Saxony’s obligation to isolate ends on February 3rd
  • Berlin: The obligation to isolate is expected to end on February 13th
  • Brandenburg: The obligation to isolate ends on February 13
  • Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: The obligation to isolate will probably no longer apply at the end of February/beginning of March






Here the isolation obligation ended earlier

  • Bavaria: The obligation to isolate ended in November 2022
  • Schleswig-Holstein: The obligation to isolate ended in November 2022
  • Rhineland-Palatinate: The obligation to isolate ended in November 2022
  • Baden-Württemberg: The obligation to isolate ended in November 2022
  • Saarland: The obligation to isolate ended in December 2022

However, some corona rules remain in place: nationwide, visitors to hospitals, care facilities, medical and dental practices must continue until April 7th FFP2 mask wear, and a negative test is also required for access to clinics and nursing homes. In medical practices, however, some federal states have now lifted the obligation for staff to wear them. (lro)
