A long line of tourists was excited at the port of embarkation of Paracas, eager to know this attraction that offers the possibility of meeting sea lions among other species. The joy is shared not only by visitors but also by business owners who saw their activities paralyzed by the blockades.

Owners of travel agencies, taxi services, restaurants, artisans and sellers of all kinds of items benefit from the reactivation of tourism, but some are cautious and point out that the influx of visitors is still low. “Little by little, people are returning,” commented a worker from the area. “The blockades caused fear and tourists did not want to come,” he told Canal N.

In Ica, the National Police and the Armed Forces unblocked the Panamericana Sur highway after more than ten days of interrupted traffic caused by protesters who demanded the resignation of President Dina Boluarte, the closure of the Congress of the Republic and the advancement of elections for this year.

After the liberation of the road, tourists return to Paracas, Pisco and Ica, and the influx of not only national visitors, but also Latin American and Asian visitors was appreciated.

Eduardo Jauregui Cabrera, president of the Paracas Chamber of Tourism and Foreign Trade (Capatur), assured the newspaper Correo that the Paracas tourism sector lost 600,000 soles a day due to the blockade of the roads.
