Los Angeles (USA), May 7 (EFE).- The Mexican Isaac Paredes drove in the winning run in extra innings for the Tampa Bay Rays against the New York Yankees on a Sunday in the Major Leagues at the that Paul Goldschmidt rocked three home runs for the much-needed-for-win St. Louis Cardinals.
RAYS 8-7 YANKEES
The New York Yankees led 0-6 in the fifth inning but allowed themselves to come back against some ferocious Rays in the sixth inning with five rounds and who culminated their feat in the tenth with an RBI by Paredes scored by Brandon Lowe.
Panamanian Christian Bethancourt and Dominican José Siri each homered for the locals and Paredes finished with two RBIs and two runs scored.
In the New Yorkers, their ace, Gerrit Cole, sank with six runs conceded in five innings of work although the loss went to Dominican pitcher Albert Abreu for allowing Tampa Bay’s winning score in extra innings.
CARDINALS 12-6 TIGERS
After eight straight games losing, the St. Louis Cardinals took a breather thanks to a magnificent performance by Paul Goldschmidt who added three home runs and finished his recital with four runs and four runs batted in.
Venezuelan Miguel Cabrera drove in a run and scored a run for the Tigers.
PARENTS 2-5 DODGERS
A home run by Mookie Betts to tie the score in the ninth inning and a home run by James Outman in the tenth inning were key in the comeback of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who won their California rivalry series 2-1 in San Diego in front of the parents.
Dominican Manny Machado and Aruban Xander Bogaerts drove in both runs for the Padres.
ANGELS 8-16 RANGERS
After suffering a 1-10 beating on Saturday, the Angels crashed again this Sunday against the Texas Rangers with a resounding 8-16 in which the Cuban Adolis García and the Dominican Ezequiel Durán each signed a home run for the winners.
Venezuelan starter José Suárez got the loss for the Angels by giving up seven runs in 2.2 innings on the mound.
Phillies 6-1 Red Sox
Just as the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA defeated the Boston Celtics on Sunday in the Eastern semifinal, the Philadelphia Phillies prevailed over the Boston Red Sox, who came launched with eight consecutive victories.
