Patricia Bullrich's candidates who could not sustain the hawk victory

They took the winning ticket from Patricia Bullrich in the Juntos por el Cambio (JxC) internship last Sunday and despite the triumph of the presidential candidate, who won easily, they could not sustain the flow of votes, suffered a cut against them and lost the Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory (STEP).

This was what happened to a group of candidates for mayor in suburban and inland districts of Buenos Aires who were left out of the race around October and are now seeking to realign themselves politically.

One of the most notable cases is that of Senator John Paul Allanwho in La Plata lost the inmate at the hands of the mayor Julio Garro. In the Buenos Aires capital, in the local category JxC garnered 39.47 percent of the votes and was the force with the most votes. The communal chief, who competed with the ticket of Horacio Rodriguez Larreta y Diego Santilligarnered 91,382 votes to Allan’s 55,148.

The result shows that there was a significant cutoff of those who voted for Bullrich in the national but in the local section they took Allan out and put Garro in the envelope. In La Plata, the former Minister of Security surpassed Larreta by almost 5,500 votes (71,077 against 66,451).

After the loss, Allan shared a photo with Garro that both posted on their social media. “Now, all together. We are leaders of the same space, we are united by respect for the values of the republic and on Sunday the people of La Plata elected democratically. We met with Julio Garro and talked about everything that has been achieved in these 8 years in Juntos por Change. We agree that with Patricia Bullrich and Néstor Grindetti we must work together to achieve the city we deserve,” the Buenos Aires senator published.

Although with different characteristics, because the two competed from the plain seeking to unseat the mayor in October Mayra Mendozaa similar scenario occurred in the JxC de Quilmes inmate, where the cook Martiniano Molina surpassed Walter Queijeiro.

Molina almost doubled the votes for the sports journalist, who went with Bullrich’s ballot, even leaving other leaders of the hawk sector who sought to compete in the district, such as Guillermo Sanchez Sterli.

All in all, in Quilmes the cut in favor of Molina was much less than in La Plata. It is that in that district Bullrich prevailed by a very narrow margin over Larreta. He was 47,513 votes against 46,298 votes.

More expected and predictable was the triumph of Diego Valenzuelawith the HRL ballot, in the local internal against Gustavo Spalletti, Bullrich’s candidate, with a difference of almost 28 points. But in that municipality of the First section there was a victory for the Buenos Aires head of government over Bullrich. In fact, it was one of the few in which that result occurred.

Mario Kanashiro, Bullrich’s candidate in Florencio Varela, is another case. He lost the intern against the ex randazzista Florence Casamiquela, who competed with Larreta’s losing ticket, but prevailed in the JxC STEP. In any case, in this district in the south of the suburbs JxC came third.

In the interior there were also cases, such as that of the mayor of Pergamino, javier martinezwho with Larreta’s ballot comfortably prevailed against the defiant bullrichista, Sergio Bocanera.
