“I believe that we can find a majority in the Assembly and in the Senate” for the pension reform, assured the Sunday newspaper the deputy of Yvelines.

Rebellious France, through its attitude in the National Assembly in the debates on pension reform, “rolls out the red carpet to the far right”, accused the patroness of Renaissance deputies Aurore Bergé on Sunday.

The deputy for Yvelines again denounced in the Sunday newspaper The “systematic obstruction” practiced by the movement of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, at the origin of some 13,000 amendments against the government’s project.

“Thousands are identical. Others ridicule the National Assembly (…) It is not worthy of parliamentary debate. We want to go to the end of the text and debate article 7”, which postpones to 64 years the legal retirement age, she said.

“A highway for the National Rally”

Asked about the Insoumis deputy Thomas Portes, excluded for 15 days from the Assembly after a controversial tweet targeting the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt, Aurore Bergé believes that “a milestone” has been crossed.

“By doing so, (the Insoumis) degrade the image of parliamentarians and roll out the red carpet for the far right. It’s a highway for the National Rally: they just have to say nothing to appear respectable”.

In the aftermath of a renewed mobilization in the street against the government’s very controversial project, the leader of the Renaissance deputies is sticking to her positions, ensuring that “we must continue to demonstrate the need for reform”.

A majority in the Assembly and the Senate?

As for a possible blockage of the country from March 7, Aurore Bergé believes that “the unions are aware that they have no interest in taking this path”.

“I believe we can find a majority in the Assembly and the Senate,” she adds.

Currently stopped at article 2, out of the 20 in the text, the deputies still have some 16,000 amendments to study until the deadline of February 17.
