At least three people were seriously injured in a suspected knife attack in a gym in Duisburg, Germany.
As a spokeswoman for the Essen police said, a suspect attacked guests in the gym in Duisburg’s old town this afternoon with a knife or a similar weapon.
According to the Essen police, the first emergency calls came in at 5:40 p.m. “The seriously injured were taken to the hospital, the operation around Schwanenstrasse in Duisburg is still ongoing,” said the spokeswoman.
“We are still looking for witnesses, but ask the population to stay away from the area of operation.” The suspect is still being searched for. The police were initially unable to provide any information on his identity, a motive or possible recordings of the crime through video surveillance of the studio system.
