The Lion brand unveils the restyled version of the 508 this Friday. And confirms that its sports version, the 508 PSE, remains in the catalog.

Peugeot is unveiling the restyled version of the 508 this Friday. Launched in 2018, this second generation of the large sedan stands out by taking up the large grille of the new Peugeot 308. The headlights at the front have also been redesigned, going from a large saber-tooth fire with three small claw-like fires.

This LED lighting signature is also found on the rear lights, which have also been reworked. The bottom of the grille has also been revised with a large air intake.

New also in the cabin

Another big change can be found in the passenger compartment with the new Peugeot i-cockpit equipped with the new i-Connect Advanced system. The steering wheel adopts the new coat of arms in its center and a 12-inch digital handset is placed just behind. A 10-inch touch screen is installed in the center of the dashboard, still with the famous piano keys, characteristic of Peugeot design.

New engines are also nestled under the hood: a 180 horsepower plug-in hybrid engine (150 horsepower PureTech petrol engine and 81 kW electric motor) and a 225 horsepower version (180 horsepower PureTech petrol engine and 81 kW electric motor). Both are mated to an eEAT8 automatic transmission and available with two-wheel drive.

The sports PSE version still in the catalog

The four-wheel drive version is found in the PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) version.

Peugeot therefore confirms this top-of-the-range sports version – which for a time seemed threatened – with here a 360 horsepower engine consisting of a 200 horsepower PureTech petrol engine, an 81 kW electric motor at the front and an 83 kW electric motor at the the back.
