A 66-year-old woman in Feldkirch Nofels was able to extinguish a fire in the false ceiling of her apartment herself on Sunday morning. A large contingent of emergency services was on site.

On Sunday, January 1st, 2023, at 11 a.m., the emergency services were called to a smoldering fire in Feldkirch-Nofels.

It turned out that the likely cause of the smoldering fire in the false ceiling to the attic was a short circuit in the lamp in the bedroom of the apartment.

Resident put out the fire herself

The fire was extinguished by the 66-year-old resident with a fire extinguisher before the fire brigade arrived. The fire brigade removed combustible material and ventilated the apartment, which is currently accessible but not habitable.

The Feldkirch federal police were on site with two patrols (four officers), the Feldkirch city police with one patrol (three officers), the Red Cross with two vehicles (three emergency services), and the Nofels and Tosters volunteer fire brigades with five vehicles (45 people). .
