“Herzblatt” was the beginning of TV dating shows on German television. But what happened to the seven moderators of the format?

The dome show “Herzblatt” is considered the first TV dating show and has remained in viewers’ memories to this day. The show was first broadcast in 1987 and lasted 18 years on German television. Some couples owe their way to happiness to the format. The show has been accompanied by various moderators over time – but what are they doing today?

A total of seven moderators helped the ladies and gentlemen to find love on the show. At first they were accompanied by Rudi Carell († 71). From 1997, Hera Lind (65) replaced the show master and moderated the entertainment show until 1998. She was the first and only woman to moderate “Herzblatt”. And even after her work as a presenter, Hera Lind continued to pursue her career. The now 65-year-old became a writer and has sold a total of over 12 million books. She is now one of the most successful authors of German-language women’s literature.

The moderators do that now

After Hera Lind, Christian Clerici (57) took over the moderation of the dome show. The Austrian also works as a television journalist and successful advertising entrepreneur. He was replaced by Pierre Geisensetter (50) on “Herzblatt” in 1999. He actually wanted to start as an athlete since his youth. In keeping with his love of sport and fitness, Geisensetter now works as McFit’s spokesman. Jörg Pilawa (57) then moderated the dome show for three years. In the meantime, he is known throughout Germany for his work as a quizmaster. The last presenter of the show was Alexander Mazza (50), who is now known as an actor.
