O poet, visual artist and publicist Joaquim Pessoa died on Monday morningannounced the publisher Edições Exgotadas.
“Editora Edições Esgotadas informs, with immense regret, that the poet Joaquim Pessoa left this morning. Joaquim Pessoa had been ill for several months, having worsened his state of health in the last few hours“, reads the note sent to the newsrooms.
Born in Barreiro, district of Setúbal, Joaquim Pessoa he was director of the Portuguese Society of Authors between 1988 and 1994. His first book was published in 1975, having published a total of more than 30 works.
