News JVTech Pixel 7a: Google’s next smartphone has leaked! All we know

Google’s next mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 7a, is not immune to internet leaks. The 5G terminal ended up in the hands of a person in Vietnam, who made a video of getting started.

It’s hard to forget the multiple prototypes of Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro that walked around in the wild last year, months before the official announcement of the two smartphones by the Mountain View company. Presumably, the Google Pixel 7a is on its way to following the same path.

Pixel 7a: the successor to the excellent Google Pixel 6a is walking around Vietnam

According to Google’s calendar, which presented the Pixel 6a in July 2022, the Pixel 7a could be formalized next summer by the company. However, it seems that this model is already walking in Vietnamaccording to a series of photos and a video that were posted recently on Facebook and Twitter.

The presence of the Google Pixel 7a in Vietnam can be explained quite simply : since 2019, i.e. since Pixel 4a, Google has relocated the production of its terminals to this country. We can therefore assume that this model on the run is a prototype from the factory which is responsible for assembling the brand’s smartphones.

The Google Pixel 7a will have a 90 Hz screen

This is not the first time that the Google Pixel 7a has been glimpsed: last December, the site Smartprice had published 3D renders associated with a leak from leaker OnLeaks. In particular, it could be seen that the terminal looks aesthetically very close to the Pixel 6a. Among the associated rumors was that of the presence of a 90 Hz refresh rate thanks to a panel developed by Samsung.

The video released this week seems to confirm that, unlike the Google Pixel 6a which is stuck at 60Hz, the Google Pixel 7a will indeed benefit from a refresh rate of 90Hz. That’s good news, as that reduced framerate was one of the main criticisms leveled at the Google Pixel 6a, a model now recognized as one of the best in its category.

Another rumor mentioned the presence of a 3.5 mm jack port, but it seems that it is unfounded. However, it is obviously necessary to take this information with tweezers, since it does not come directly from Google. However, we can easily bet on the fact that more leaks of information and visuals will take place in the coming monthsand that the Google Pixel 7a will no longer have any secrets when it becomes official.
