Google is due to launch the Pixel 7a in a few days, and so the amount of leaked information about the device has been increasing. It’s been spotted in a performance test with its top specs, and new screenshots show what it should look like.

As expected, the smartphone will come with Tensor G2 as its main performance component. In addition, the test was carried out with a version with 8 GB of RAM, which should be the only one made available by Google.

The Geekbench page shows that the device went through the platform with Android 13, but it should win Android 14 as soon as the new version of the operating system is made official. Ultimately, it earned an official score of 1380 points in single-core, and 3071 in multi-core.

New images of the device show it in a new color option called Arctic Blue. The light blue tone will join the traditional black, among other options that Google may announce next.

In addition, the device should have a relatively similar look to what had already been seen in previous renderings. The camera module extends between the sides of the device, and should have a silver or black frame, depending on the model.

Google Pixel 7a – or what to expect

In addition to the specifications shown in the recent performance test, previous rumors have already shown what the rest of its technical sheet should look like.

The Pixel 7a should bring a 6.1-inch screen, with OLED technology and Full HD resolution. This panel may still gain support for refresh rates at 90 Hz, higher than the 60 Hz of the previous model.

The set of cameras on the device should bring a main sensor of 64 MP, aided by an ultrawide of 12 MP. At the front, a 10.8 MP component is expected to be responsible for selfies.

Previous news also mentioned the possibility of the device bringing a 4,400 mAh battery, with support for 20 W wired recharges. The Pixel 7a should bring compatibility with wireless charging as another novelty, but at a power of just 5 W.

The device will be officially unveiled on May 10th, when the Google I/O conference will be held. Information such as price and distribution deadlines must also be shown at the same time.
