The Callisto Protocol was released on December 2, 2022. So far you’ve had enough time to finish the first playthrough, right? If so, then now there’s a reason to play the survival horror title again, because the latest patch introduces the New Game+.

Increased replayability

In order to play New Game+ mode, you need an active save file from The Callisto Protocol. The update, which brings the mode and many improvements to the game from developer Striking Distance Studios, is now live. So you can start the second round straight away.

Additionally, the update fixed an issue with the “The Protocol is About Life” achievement and optimized performance on all platforms. Issues with certain camera angles and progression paths have also been resolved, and cabinets of all types are now displayed correctly in high contrast mode. On the PC version, an error when activating RayTracing and a crash in the tunnel level have even been fixed.

When it was released last month, the game didn’t receive terrific reviews. Our tester, Benjamin Schmädig, also complained about the content and technical weaknesses in the test, but praised “the intense hand-to-hand combat” and “the cinematic staging”. But it was still enough for 7 points in the rating and as a bridge to the release of Dead Space Remake.
