PlayStation is up to something, that’s for sure. Rumors are swirling about Sony’s next big State of Play. The new PS5 should not take long to show up.
E3 is over, in any case, there won’t be any this year. From now on, manufacturers, publishers, even some studios, do their business all alone in their corner. At least, when they’re not showing off at the Game Awards or the Summer Game Fest. This last event has become a real must. In addition to a big dedicated show, the label centralizes several summer events around video games.
But if gamers around the world are patiently waiting for the summer to hear about the next big games to come, Playstation fans might just be satisfied ahead of this summer’s festivities.
A State of Play soon?
If we are to believe the gossip, Sony is preparing a big event, a sort of State of Play XXL, and it should happen very quickly. In any case, this is what Jeff Grubb once again reports to us, often very well informed on the subject. During a recent podcast, Grubb claimed Sony should give us a date by May or June. In any case, as he had already said earlier, this next big State of Play should take place before the Summer Game Fest 2023.
PlayStation should delight its fans
The noose is tightening once again, and the date is fast approaching. The last time Jeff Grubb had announced the arrival of an event, he had hit the bullseye. Doubt is therefore allowed even if we will wait for the formalization of Sony to be sure as always.
The last time the manufacturer made its show was a few weeks ago with a small State of Play devoted to Final Fantasy 16, one of the very big exclusive releases to come to PS5. But other very big games are expected this year (if all goes well) like Silent Hill 2 Remake or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for example.
We are also awaiting news of all the projects in development, most of which have not even been presented, such as the AAA of Firewalk, a studio recently acquired by Sony. We also hope to have the right to new games on PSVR 2 since if the new virtual reality headset has not been a hit, nearly 300,000 users are patiently waiting for new features or even exclusives.
