Panama City, May 6. With doubles from José Murillo, Samir Ramírez, and Ronaldo Dinolis, Plaza Amador defeated Club Deportivo Universitario 6 goals to 0 this Saturday, to seal their ticket to the semifinals of the Apertura 2023 tournament of the Panamanian Football League (LPF).

The placinos with the victory and the pass to the semifinals earned the opportunity to play the next round against Club Atlético Independiente de La Chorrera (CAI), the current Panamanian soccer champion.

The placinos showed from the beginning of the duel the desire to be semifinalists, when in minute 8 they had already reached the goal of the rival team twice with danger.

Despite the placid siege, in minute 24 a header from Kevin Calderón from Universitario put the rival team’s defense in trouble.

In the 32nd minute the first goal for Plaza Amador fell, when Samir Ramírez picked up a loose ball in the area.

Just three minutes later, José Murillo made it 2-0 for Plaza Amador, with a subtle touch over the university’s goalkeeper.

The first half came to an end with Plaza Amador playing well and winning comfortably.

The second half started with the placinos looking to extend their advantage and in the 49th minute, José Murillo scored the second in his personal account and the third for the team from the Panamanian capital.

The university students always tried to find the discount, but the placinous “lions” did not give up inches on the field and this frontal game led to Samir Ramírez being neglected in the area in the 63rd minute, and with an impeccable header he made it 4-0 in the scoreboard

With the score high, the “lions” coached by interim coach Ameth de León managed the game, but Ronaldo Dinolis, who came on as a substitute in the second half, did not lower his guard and sealed the victory with a brace.

Dinolis closed the Placina win, with goals in the 74th and 78th minute of the plugin. EFE
