Xavier Yvon: The “power nap”… in good French, the “flash nap”, or the “micro-nap”… and that’s exactly what Valentin Ehkirch, from the Sciences department, is doing… He’s there in the studio sitting on a chair (that’s why I’m speaking softly)… He’s almost done… [bruit d’un objet qui tombe]… Here is ! Hi Valentin, did you sleep well?

Valentin Ehkirch: Hi Xavier. Slept well, thank you.

Xavier Yvon: What the listeners heard falling when you woke up was a pen that you held in your hand while sleeping, can you explain why?

Valentin Ehkirch: Yes, I was testing Salvador Dali’s micro-nap technique. He would fall asleep with an object in his hand (a sort of iron key like an adjustable spanner). When the object fell, he woke up. It kept him from taking too long a nap. Even if Salvador Dali was not all good on the theory of sleep, he understood the very principle of the “power nap”: a nap short enough to become effective again immediately.

Xavier Yvon: It worked for you obviously, you are very clear!
