2022 was an important year for the Pokémon videogame brandfirst with the landing of Legends Pokémon Arceus on the shores of Nintendo Switch and, subsequently, thanks to the much acclaimed and at the same time discussed Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the new titles with great commercial success and more.
As stated by Nintendo itself, the new chapters of the ninth generation Pokémon have been a great stepping stone to the 2022 Nintendo Switch, which has capitalized on a large number of consoles placed on the market also thanks to the latest title dedicated to the nice little pocket monsters. Citing these last chapters, in fact, we are talking about a great success all over the world, as demonstrated by the fact that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were the best-selling Switch games in the USA in 2022.
However, thanks to the statements of the Big N following an interview with the editorial staff of the Financial Post, we know that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have also enjoyed great success in Canada. On the other hand, as reiterated by the company itself, it is the “highest-grossing entertainment franchise of all time with over 440 million games sold worldwide“.
However, they emerge from the interview just mentioned important new details on what the future of the two titles should be. When asked about the experience resulting from the launch of these two games, characterized by a number of issues in terms of performance and general quality of the titles, the general manager of Nintendo of Canada, Susan Pennefather, responded by stating the following:
“We sincerely apologize, as giving players a positive experience with our games is so important to us, and when we don’t, we take it very much to heart. I can tell that player feedback has been taken very seriously as well we are working to improve these games“. There is no way of knowing how much work is happening on Pokémon 9th generation titles directly from behind Nintendo. Nonetheless, the team continues to work on perfecting two titles which, despite the general discontent, have been greeted with great anticipation.
