Mulheim/Essen.
Is there a connection between a destroyed ATM in Mülheim and a burned out car in Essen? The police are investigating.

The police were busy with two operations early Friday morning in Mülheim and Essen. Around four o’clock there was one possible ATM blast at Kaufland in Mülheim reported at the street Heifeskamp. According to the police, witnesses saw possible perpetrators flee in a dark-colored car.

Twenty minutes later the next mission: A car caught fire on Schuirweg in Essen. The police report a “full fire”. A helicopter with a thermal imaging camera searched for people who could have been in the car – but so far without success. The Schuirweg is closed for a long time in the morning due to the accident recording.

The police are not yet talking about the ATM being blown up. And whether the incident in Mülheim is related to the burned-out car in Essen is currently also unclear. The police are investigating. (YesK)
