The original “Powers Rangers” team will soon be back for a special episode, airing on Netflix in April to mark the series’ 30th anniversary.
Thirty years later Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the first American series centered on this team of superheroes, the cast will reunite. They will meet again for a special episode called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Alwaysexpected April 19 on Netflix.
Several actors from this program broadcast from 1993 to 1996 will be back, including Steve Cardenas (Rocky, the red ranger), Walter Emanuel Jones (Zack Taylor, the black ranger), David Yost (Billy Cranston, the blue ranger), Catherine Sutherland (Kat Hillard, the second pink ranger who arrived in season 2), or even Johnny Yong Bosch.
“An unreal experience”
Unlike the reunion of the actors of Friendsreunited in April 2021 to discuss the filming of the series and their best memories, the casting of Power Rangers will appear here in a scripted episode. A new adventure for this team of superheroes, thirty years after the launch of the series:
“It’s great”, declares Walter Emanuel Jones in the columns of ‘Entertainment Weekly‘. “It was an unreal experience to be on the ‘Power Rangers’ set again, 28 years later.”
The American media unveils a first synopsis: “The Power Rangers find themselves face to face with a threat they know well, returned from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are once again called upon to be the heroes the planet needs. “
Two great absentees
Two people will be missing. The actress Thuy Trang, the first actress to have played the yellow ranger, who died in 2001 at the age of 27 in a car accident, as well as Jason David Frank, who played several rangers over the seasons and ended his life at the age of 49.
Entertainment Weekly also announces that Netflix will broadcast the 30th season of Power Rangers. Title Power Rangers: Cosmic Furyit will see the cast of the previous two seasons return.
Adapted from a Japanese format, the Power Rangers have continually reinvented themselves over the past three decades. Generations of fighters have succeeded from series to series.
