Prado, second in Sumbawa and firm leader

Jorge Prado is a solid leader of the Motocross World Championship, the MXGP. The man from Lugo was first and third in Sumbawa (Indonesia) to consolidate that position. Febvre took the grand prize and, without Herlings, he is already his only challenger for the crown. The Galician gets 101 points.

In the first raceeverything seemed to happen as in the qualifying race. Febvre had achieved the ‘holeshot’ (reach the initial curve first) and forced to escape.

However, this time, Prado started better and got behind the Frenchman. The man from Lugo contained the difference from the Frenchman, who stabilized at around 1.6 seconds. The pressure of the Spanish from GasGas had its fruitswell the one from Kawasaki went to the ground and Jorge was able to overtake him.

Ace, Prado prevailed with a wide advantage under the heat and with a hard terrain. Febvre rallied and set up a great fight with Seewer for second. Romain emerged victorious from it. Ruben Fernndez he finished fifth after winning his fight with Vlaanderen.

surprises

In the second raceFebvre made the third ‘holeshot’ of the weekend. The surprise came with Guillod, who was second, in front of Prado. The cross was for Rubn, because he crashed on the first lap and went down to the out-of-points area. The vigus, then, went up at full speed.

Guillod did a perfect ‘plug’ for Romain, because it plugged holes and allowed Febvre’s escape. Prado finally overtook him, but he was already more than five seconds behind the Frenchman. The Swiss, then, was losing positions.

However, Febvre gave no choiceHis pace was brutal. Jorge had to concentrate on containing Vlaanderen. They were joined by Seewer and Coldenhoff to battle for the podium.

On lap 10 everything became clear: Seewer aggressively disposed of Vlaanderen and Coldenhoff crashed trying to pass his compatriot.

But Seewer was not satisfied and launched for Prado. The Galician defended himself fiercely, but Jeremy ended up surpassing him when the time was about to expire and only the final two laps were missing. The Spaniard then chose to control third place against Vlaanderen. Fernndez was sixth.

Febvre achieved his first grand prix win since 2021. In the absence of Herlings, he is the only adversary Prado has left for the World Cup. Ninth podium of the year for Jorge, whose solidity is turning out to be key.
