In each episode, one person is nominated and thus has the chance to be recognized as the “most important figure in Berlin’s economy” in 2023.
“Berlin has developed into Germany’s most dynamic economic metropolis in recent years, and we are closely monitoring this process,” say the Tagesspiegel editors-in-chief Lorenz Maroldt and Christian Tretbar. “With our new series, we show how strong and style-defining Berlin companies already are in various sectors of the economy – and who the managers are behind them.”
Specialist journalists from the Tagesspiegel have identified the 100 most important business heads in Berlin in the form of a long list. Among other things, it was taken into account to what extent they not only work in their own company or institution, but are also networked externally and contribute to urban society and participate in debates. Social commitment is also appreciated. And some “important heads of Berlin’s economy” are nominated because they lead their employees in a particularly progressive way or set the course for the development of their industry with their decisions.
The editorial team “Wirtschaft in Berlin” of the Tagesspiegel will present the “most important head of the Berlin economy” of the year 2023 after the finale of the series on April 29th.
