A private venture in Santiago de Cuba plans to make the largest pizza in the country on July 2 in greeting to the beginning of summer and to promote Italian culinary culture in that territory.
The initiative, called “Pizzatonazo 2023” is promoted by the M’ka Bar-Cafeteria, located in La Alameda, but will have the participation of a dozen private businesses in the province, including Conta’s Empanadas, Sandwich Caffe, Club Led, Cafetazo, Sandwichazo, Millenium bar and Fénix Bakery, said Katiuska Ramos Moreira, M’ka communicator, quoted the official newspaper Sierra Maestra.
The event aims to “promote Italian culinary culture in Santiago de Cuba,” he stressed.
The Territorial Standardization Office (OTN) and the highest representative of the Culinary Association of the Republic of Cuba in this province, Ángel Escamif, will validate the quality and Compliance with standards of established quality and safety.
The venture also promotes a contest through which four people will be chosen to taste Pizza giant in record time. The winner will take prizes.
M’Ka is the first private business to sponsor the Caribbean Festival, also known as Fiesta del Fuego, which will take place in the territory from July 3 to 9. That event is dedicated this year to Mexican celebrations of life and death.
Pizza is one of the most popular foods in Cuba.
