Prosecutor’s Office activates protocol for the alleged femicide of Yeimy in the south of Mérida
This Saturday morning, the lifeless discovery of a body was reported inside a well south of Merida and it is presumed that it could be the homicide of a young woman reported missing, for which the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) activated a protocol of femicide.
As we announced in The Truth Newsuntil the closing of this note, an extensive security operation was carried out in the San José Tecoh I neighborhood, after the discovery of the lifeless body inside a well was unofficially reported.
A strong operation is maintained in the area.
The body was found after which agents of the State Investigative Police carried out an investigative operation.
It is said that since yesterday, several agents walked the streets of southern Mérida and thanks to the video surveillance system, they managed to find the property where the body was found.
So far no official report has been given, but there is a strong rumor of a homicide of a woman, since the FGE activated the femicide protocol.
Rumors indicate that the possible victim could be the young woman, Yeimy Berenice LC, 25 years old, who was reported missing on January 5, when she went out to a shopping mall in the east of the city.
Boyfriend the alleged femicide suspect
Another operation in the center of the city related to this case is reported.
It is said that the alleged perpetrator could be the young woman’s boyfriend, with whom it is said that she had strong discussions.
So far, the authorities have not officially confirmed that the body found is Yeimy’s, however, it was unofficially indicated that a house-to-house operation is being carried out, on Calle 69 in the Center of Mérida, in search of of the alleged femicide.
