Escape from Tarkov is one of the hottest first-person shooters of recent years, and it seems that the developers of PlayerUknown’s Battlegroundsafter leading the way in the Battle Royale explosion, intend to create a rival to the title signed by Battlestate Games.

While initially Tarkov seemed to be in direct competition with the many battle royales on the market, the game has carved out a niche of its own since 2017, and it seems that others want to imitate its winning formula. We have already witnessed the examples of Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zonesthe mode Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 DMZ and also Hunt: Showdownbut it would seem that Krafton is also eager to enter the picture.

According to the company’s latest financial report, Project BlackBudgetas the project is currently known, will be the competitor of Escape From Tarkov made by PUBG Studios. According to the document, identified by The Loadoutthe game is a “evolving open world PvPvE full of satisfying shooting that offers unpredictable and exciting experiences”. The title will apparently launch on PC, consoles and mobile devices.

We don’t know how much of a priority the title might be for Krafton, who we know is also working on a dark fantasy game in Unreal Engine 5 that we received a teaser for.
