The main suspect in the investigation for the murder of Jonathan Fernández, the 30-year-old man who was found dead with stab wounds on Sunday morning in the Bicentenario neighborhood of Puerto Iguazú, was still hospitalized yesterday in a delicate state of health.

This is Diego César B. (38), who moments after verifying the fact of blood, was located by the Misiones Police about 500 meters from the crime scene, like the deceased, with stab wounds.

Sources involved in the investigation told this morning newspaper that the injured man, who is suspected of having an argument with Fernández in front of a house located on Los Trabajadores street, was still hospitalized yesterday in the intensive care sector of the Samic de Iguazú hospital.

The spokespersons consulted indicated that the patient was admitted to the aforementioned hospital with a “punching injury to the left base of the thorax, with abundant blood loss.”

And they added that he recorded other cuts in different parts of the body, although the indicated injury is the one that seriously compromises his life.

It should be remembered that the Police reached the suspect in the middle of the investigations for the attack that Jonathan Fernández suffered during the early hours of Sunday.

It was a couple who, around 5 o’clock, when they were returning from a dance venue in the city, ran into the wounded man, lying at the intersection of Juan Pablo Segundo avenue and Mono Carayá street.

For this fact, the Investigating Court Three of Puerto Iguazú intervened, in charge of Judge Martín Brítes, who ordered different measures to clarify the case. Although for the moment the only one targeted for the crime is Diego César.
