Rafa Nadal assures that his farewell season is normal

MADRID-. The Spanish Rafael Nadalwho last week announced his return to competition in January after almost a year away from the tennis courts, stated that “it is normal for it to be my last year” active, but “I cannot guarantee it 100%.”

“I still have in my head that it’s normal or that there is a good chance that it will be my last year and that I will enjoy each tournament as if it were, but I don’t want to announce it as such because in the end you don’t know what can happen” Nadal said this Thursday in a video on his social networks.

In the last installment of these short videos in which he has been detailing his situation after announcing his return to competition in January at the Brisbane tournament, Nadal insisted that “one always has to give oneself the opportunity and not say one thing that then he can be a slave to what he has said.

“I cannot guarantee it 100% (that it will be his last year) because in the end I have worked a lot to compete again, and if suddenly things allow me and my physique allows me to move forward and I enjoy what I do, why would I I’m going to set a deadline, I think it doesn’t make sense,” he said.

“I am only in a position to say that I am competing again,” said Nadal, who reiterated that “I did not deserve to end my sporting career in a press room, I would like it to end differently and I have fought and maintained my enthusiasm at all times.” for that to happen.”
