INFO BFMTV – The son of the Minister of Justice was placed in police custody in Courchevel, Savoie on Friday on suspicion of “domestic violence”.

Raphaël Dupond-Moretti, son of the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Morettiwas indicted on suspicion of “domestic violence” after being taken into custody on Friday, BFMTV learned on Sunday.

After being heard by a judge on Saturday evening, he was placed under judicial supervision and released.

Thursday, a neighbor alerted the gendarmes after hearing loud voices suggesting domestic violence. When they arrived, Raphaël Dupond-Moretti had left the scene and his companion had taken refuge with the neighbor. She assured the gendarmes that she had received punches, kicks and bags.

Raphaël Dupond-Moretti then presented himself to the Courchevel gendarmerie before being taken into police custody on Friday morning.

Éric Dupond-Moretti says he is “devastated”

“As a father I am devastated, I have a thought for the victim, any violence whatsoever is intolerable”, reacted on Friday Éric Dupond-Moretti to BFMTV.

“As minister, I have never stopped fighting against violence against women and for their word to be taken into account”, continues the Keeper of the Seals. “As a citizen I ask that my family life be respected.”

The minister believes that “it is now up to justice to do its job”. His entourage told BFMTV that the Minister of Justice will “obviously” deport himself so as not to be aware of the follow-up given to this case.

The investigation was entrusted to the Alberville prosecutor’s office.
