Raspberry Pi Limited brings the new “Camera Module 3” in four variants. All have the 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 sensor, which also delivers 3-megapixel images with HDR contrasts. The Camera Module 3 is available in one version each with a standard and wide-angle lens (Wide) and both in turn with or without an infrared filter (NoIR).

Like the previous Raspi cams, the four versions of the Camera Module 3 are each connected to the CSI-2 connection (Camera Serial Interface according to MIPI CSI-2) of a Raspi via a 20-centimetre-long foil cable.

The Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera presented in 2020 comes without a lens for lenses with a C/CS mount connection. Another version with an M12 thread is now being released. Like the C-mount bracket, the M12 bracket has a tripod thread.

The High-Quality Camera is with the Sony IMX477 sensor equipped, which, like the IMX708, is used in some smartphones.

For the standard version of the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3, Raspberry Pi Ltd. a price of $25. The wide version will cost $35 and the high-quality camera with an M12 connection will cost $50.
