This ultra-immersive gaming chair immerses you in the game with haptic feedback and surround sound.

This year, CES 2023 presented us with many unusual products, across all categories. In the world of gaming, we were treated to a controller with an integrated OLED screen, but also to this futuristic gaming chair that promises immersion and comfort. We owe it to Razer, which specializes in the design of competitive video game accessories.

This particular chair is called Project Carol and is still at an early design stage but has undeniable advantages. The strong point of the furniture is its ability to immerse you in your game thanks to speakers as well as haptic feedback integrated into the head of the seat. Razer incorporates its best technologies, ranging from Hypersense to near-field 7.1 surround sound.

Inside the head cushion is a system designed by Interhaptics, which allows the seat to “converting sound signals into realistic vibrations in real time, allowing you to physically experience rear surround effects as if you were in your game world.“It also works with music, which goes hand in hand with 7.1 surround audio, if you have a compatible machine.

A gaming chair that will tear

So you can enjoy 8 hours of battery with a 2.4 GHz wireless connection. The cushion is obviously detachable and Razer confirms that it is compatible with almost all gaming chairs. This is possible thanks to the stretch straps that are on the back of the cushion and which adapt to all backrest sizes. It looks like it can also be folded to the sides to best wrap your head.

For the moment, Razer has not mentioned neither price nor release date, so it is not known if this project will actually be marketed, and if so, by how long. It should be borne in mind that CES innovations very often remain at the concept stage.
